I forget things very easily but yet there are so many things I want to remember....

A little sunshine will do you good ;)
and it's HOT!!!! A bouquet of pink lilies and forget me nots at the door is just another way to start a perfect Sunday.
"Do you know how difficult it is to buy flowers that are not Carnations today?!" he said, wanting to claim however much credit for a supposed simple gesture.
And we drove along Repulse bay, with wind toussled hair and old country rock playing. I love this stretch of road - bending winding through the mountains.... until this certain point, when the sea suddenly appears right in front of you, embracing you with its vastness.
While I do wish winter would stretch on a little bit more, summer is actually quite pleasing. With summer approaching, you really feel differently. You're more ready to toss your scarfs and hoods and down jackets and opt for cottons and shorts and hats.
It's known that seasons affect moods - some in a good way, some .. not as perfect.
For me, the heat is not a good thing. I become more temperamental and would keep whining about how hot it is, as if a degree difference makes my skin burn. Definitely short of patience, cos by the time we got to Stanley, all the parking lots were full. It is always so difficult to find a parking lot in HK! Desperate, we parked some distance from Stanley and took a mini bus to the main plaza.
But I'm happy again since I got my fish-and-chips fix. :D Though shortly after, I have to pay for the calories.
I cannot remember when I last swam in the open sea. Must have been last summer. I don't like the feeling of my feet in mid water, not knowing how deep the water is. And I hate swimming without goggles. But I do it because I know you'll always swim by and let me hang on to you and just float. I guess I want to be dependent sometimes.
And you need to let me be. :)

Shakespeare Sonnet 47
And each doth good turns now unto the other:
When that mine eye is famish'd for a look,
Or heart in love with sighs himself doth smother,
With my love's picture then my eye doth feast
And to the painted banquet bids my heart;
Another time mine eye is my heart's guest
And in his thoughts of love doth share a part:
So, either by thy picture or my love,
Thyself away art resent still with me;
For thou not farther than my thoughts canst move,
And I am still with them and they with thee;
Or, if they sleep, thy picture in my sight
Awakes my heart to heart's and eye's delight.

Simple joys
- Coming back to a quiet room after hearing an entire day of noise, and waking up to your voice
- Knowing you remembered the words I most casually spoke when I've forgotten them myself
- Having something in mind, but someone else voice the exact same words out (what's the probability of that?)
- You, satisfying my every whim and fancy and agreeing to share my fats
- Catching up on each other's life, and never feeling the distance
- Laughing myself silly :D

Kissing a fool
When I could have been your star
You listened to people
Who scared you to death
And from my heart
Strange that you were strong enough
To even make a start
You'll never find
Peace of mind
Till you listen to your heart
People
You can never change the way they feel
Better let them do just what they will
For they will
If you let them steal your heart from you
People
Will always make a lover feel a fool
But you knew I loved you
We could have shown them all
We should have seen love through

If I could walk a thousand miles...
Making my way downtown
Walking fast
Faces pass
And I'm home bound
Staring blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making my way
Through the crowd
And I need you
And I miss you
And now I wonder....
If I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
Tonight

I love pretty boys
I loved him

followed by him after watching Meteor Garden....

and him...
and then him....

and more recently him... (watched 男儿本色 in Hong Kong - damn nice show)

Been on a movie/drama serial marathon til late nights every night - the current one I'm watching made me want to go back to school again

And made me fall in love.... with Quan

How can there be such pretty boys on Earth??

MR GOH: NO! THERE CAN'T BE SUCH PRETTY BOYS ON EARTH!!

I'm starting to see the pattern of the 'type' of boys I love - pretty, si wen/gentlemanly, specky, sunshine smile and makes me want to 'mother' them.
They all fall under the same mould.
So if you're a pretty boy, I might just fall in love with you! =)
time for bed!

A walk to remember...
Was curled up in bed for an hour or so, before I finally dozed off. Just as we were talking about bad cramps last night....sigh. I don't usually get such bad cramps... and the 'auntie' comes regularly every month...
so yeah, all plans had to be cancelled... on the last long weekend of 2007.
it could have been a blessing in disguise though... cos I managed to watch this film again....

I was 19 when I watched this film.
Still, it didn't fail to make me cry again tonight.
Love is like the wind. You cannot see it but you can feel it.
and I ABSOLUTELY love this song
SOMEDAY WE'LL KNOW
Ninety miles outside Chicago
I can't stop driving I don't know why
So many questions, I need an answer
Two years later, you're still on my mind
Whatever happened to Amelia Earhart
Who holds the stars up in the sky
Cuz true love is just once in a lifetime
Did the captain of the Titanic cry?
Someday we'll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you
Does anybody know the way to Atlantits?
What the wind says when she comes
I'm speeding by the place that I met you
For the ninty-seventh time, tonight
Someday we'll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know
Why I wasn't meant for you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Someday we'll know
Why Samson loved Delilah
One day I'll go
Dancing on the moon
Someday you'll know that I was the one for you
I want to take you to the end of the rainbow
Watch the stars crash in the sea
If I could ask God just one question
Why aren't you here with me, tonight?
Someday we'll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Someday we'll know
Why Samson loved Delilah
One day I'll go
Dancing on the moon
Someday you'll know that I was the one for you
and it's always nice to know that there's some truth in the movie, as in, it did happened to someone....
and now their story has turned into one which inspired so many others... and touched our hearts too.

Pre-then-post birthday celebrations
but this birthday surprised me quite a bit. =D
It's true when you're least expecting something, they'll always appear as pleasant (or unpleasant) surprises.
=When the clock struck 12=

The long overdued surprise--Mr Goh unexpectedly dropped by my place with lovely cakes from Rive Guache on Thursday night! I didn't pick up the various give-aways he made that day... he told me his colleague wants to know where I got the Vday cakes for him from, asked me about the different types of cakes available, etc, asked me when I'd be home after tuition... I SHOULD have smelled something fishy, but I didn't. I guess there were too many things to do at work.
=Luncheon=
On Friday, the actual day, (which also happens to be the last day of work for m and wj), we had our own farewell/birthday lunch. Despite all the un/happiness at/about work/one another, we still managed to have a good lunch and a good laugh over AT and our postures at work. Man... I'm a hunchback! I need to make a conscious effort to keep my back straight!

And then some more decent photos. The girls and Peter got me this pair of amethyst shoulder dusters with other semi-precious stones. It's a handmade design by this Japanese lady, Yoko Yamada, who believes that "small things are beautiful". =D

It is believed that amethyst will protect its owner from drunkenness. The ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst and made drinking vessels of it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication.
Given my tolerance for alcohol (or the lack of it), we shall see if it's really true or not.
=Dinner Date=
so Mr Goh got confused about which date my birthday falls on... until I need to write it down in 'black and white'...
and the mystery dining venue (which is high and dark) turned out to be Altivo Bar @ The Jewel Box at Mt Faber. Nevermind that it's alfresco, the night breezes were cool AND there were no mosquitoes AND no one was smoking since decent food was served there.
But it was really dark...

and food portions were tiny, but still delicious... maybe good things come in small packages

Mr Goh says the girl on the card reminds him of me... cos of the eyes ^ ^ and the figure. =_= Jewel's peak was really yummy.

and since there was a live band there (who plays really good music)... might as well make a dedication right... <3
so there was a 'Happy Birthday' song which I uploaded earlier, followed by this...we sound like mice and I look drunk (from half a glass of mango margarita)...
and this... SATAYS! $2 per stick! But the meat was damn SUCCULENT! and the KETUPAT was WARM!
And so ends the night of the 30th, when I'm officially TWO AND FOUR.

=Sweeties and Presents=
Presenting to you... the Nike 'Shox Q-Vida' Athletic Dance Shoe! Great for fitness dance and gym workouts ;) I LOVE IT!

Description: Lightweight, synthetic leather lace-up provides responsive cushioning, articulated arch flex and support, ideal for the fitness dancer.
big THANK YOU to the sweeties! then we went shopping for GGGoh's present. ;) I realise we didn't take pics with hf!! and hf, I didn't realise you guys went kino to get the cards!

Dinner was at Thai Express (two days in a row)...craving for spicy food and their lime+watermelon juice + mango salad + four season peas. I can have Thai Express for consecutive days!
Oh, I didn't realise eileen left the Q to get the cake too! What's happening to me?! I'm losing the ability to read the signs! (or maybe cos this time zee managed to keep mum about it) So yeah, the cake was a surprise!

The strawberrilicious chocolatey cake from CHOCZ and my little wishes

Zee took a pic of me with her polaroid cam, which I later showed Mr Goh and he said it reminded him of 周慧敏 Vivian Chow.

Which part? The headband, the hair or the bushy eyebrows?
and we're off to the Mezza9! As usual, eileen ordered this special conconction called Hot and Sexy which tasted REALLLY bad... and she settled for a lesser evil - the Bloody Mary. I thought I'd be more conservative and ordered a Tiramisu martini. It wasn't that bad, in fact, all the martinis at Mezza9 are DAMN power, too strong for me liao. I think ru's the only one who finished her Sakura. The amethyst didn't work for me at all.

=Two Ts=
When I made my wishlist and told Mr Goh I would like a Tiffany, he asked me who is Tiffany...
whether he was pretending or not, I could not tell...
but we went tiffany shopping nonetheless! finally decided on the lock ring (over the beanie ring)... to which Mr Goh asked, but there's no key to the lock?
Oh my dear... YOU are the key... WHEE!

Sis got me the keyring but since my sturdy bow and heart keyring (since 2002!!) is still intact, I'm gonna be a cheat and double up the tag on the keyring as a pendant! WHEE WHEE! ;D (I checked with tiffany today and they don't sell their chain separately! wk!)
=birthday thoughts=
I still DON'T feel 24.
As I've told many of you, I think birthdays are most entertaining when you're still a child. Nothing to fret, parents will take care of the cake, food, desserts, balloons, gifts, cards, confetti and your friends... And you just sit in front of your cake and look like a princess. I probably had about ten or less of this kind of parties.
And when you're older, it becomes just a date to remind yourself that (maybe) you need to learn to be more responsible and act like an adult, etc etc.
I wish something WILL happen to me when it's my birthday, like physically overnight, so you know you are REALLY growing older. Like grow bigger boobs la, grow an inch taller la, eyes grow bigger la, butt becomes smaller la... just some sign you know (note: not ageing signs though!) ... So I can proudly say, I AM A YEAR OLDER!
Or some fairy godmother will come by my bed at night and present me with my birthday certificate, that sort of things...
Cos emotionally, mentally, what not, I don't feel that I'm growing g r o w i n g...
maybe I need to become fully aware of who I really am before I can make a fairer comment about that... :P
Thanks to all who sent me birthday wishes and love!

A mini surprise

The reason why it's only a mini surprise and not a major surprise is cos... I was half expecting it.
See, Mr Goh works really near me. When I told him I was going to stay late working in the office, he said he's going home for dinner. That was at about 7 + when he left the office. And at that point of time, I was really wondering if he'd bring me dinner.... but after waiting for more than 30 min, I thought he'd probably have gone home.....
until ...someone opened the door to the office...
Couldn't see who it was at first, thought it was m who came back, or someone who went through the wrong door....
anyhow, he said he was on already on his way home, but turned back and decided to surprise me. Hurrr.
yea, so it's just a mini surprise.
I'm still waiting for a BIG one. ;)
He got his fair share by finishing (almost) my whole can of Wasabi macadamia nuts.

Must get more of this; it's really quite addictive. :D

Great expectations
The final blueprint for living life, the big picture, will somewhat be similar for everybody, but how we get there differs.
Relationships are like that, i guess.
You constantly need to meet expectations of each and everyone in that circle, like the different layers of the onion, until you reach the core. You get frustrated by others (the other layers) so much so that sometimes, you forgot who you're really in love with.
I shared with Mr Goh my thoughts about the future, my own kind of expectations and secretly hopes that his are the same as mine. Where it's not, hopefully we'd compromise.
While browsing furniture at Harvey Norman today, we have a glimpse of what our future home will look like. I told him I want an oven in the kitchen, doesn't matter if I don't bake. I just want an oven. And he said, together with the oven, he will get me the ironing board, the washing machine, and the vacuum as well. His sense of humour really tickles me.
I'm not sure if talking about things like these is still too early??
Though he says he's frustrated that he's reached a stage where he's ready to move forward, yet he can't because of practical realities. I feel his frustrations too, and I don't mind moving forward but I guess good things, like good wine, needs to be cultured over time.
Patience rewards those who wait? Will there really be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
only time can tell, really.
as for now, just hold on dearly and savour every moment of it.
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. Charles Dickens, Great Expectations.

Love Bugs
U either get bitten by love bugs and fall head over heels in love, OR u think that love bugs.
Eric 'robert' lim has this on his msn nick: Bang Bang Bang the whole of Feb. Simply put, he's an army boy who loves to bang. Haha.
Valentines' Day is also known as Hallmark Day since it has been estimated by the Greeting Card Association (didn't know got such an association wor) that approximately one billion cards or 'valentines' are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas.
And on this day, lovers express their love for each other, send flowers, chocolates, cards, bears and whatever the shops are selling or whatever the other lady on the street is holding.
Cult culture it has turned into. Good money making for the retailers it has become. Most girls would heart all the gifts and flowers... but there should be a little more effort and heart put into getting all these commercialised gimmicks.
Something like this would definitely rock her world:
Boss made this for his wifey. It says, Be My Valentine. That's like how SWEET.
Beats having everything else all the ladies on the street are getting. :D
Happy Valentines Day everybody!

whistles...don't worry, be happy
The whistling song in the ad is this....
Sung By Bobby Mcferin
"Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now
Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The landlord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy"
I first heard it in Sec 2, 14 years old. We were rehearsing for Dream Dare Do (yearly St nicholas eldds theatre production), and this is one of the song pieces we danced to.
I loved it the moment i heard it, it sets my toes dancing.
ooh, i wish to be on that big stage again.

wedding bells ringing...

Nope, not us. =))

Mr goh's sis and jon's. Congratulations!!
I haven't attended weddings since my sister's, which is like 13/14 yrs ago. The most recent one would be mr goh's friend-edmund's, but his is more like a wedding tea party/solemnisation at Sentosa.
Anyway, their Panpac wedding banquet was a simple affair.

The parents were actually the busy ones who were trying to entertain the guests during the cocktail reception. Mr goh's family alone - "the goh clan"- occupied at least half the tables. 14 tables!! That's like at least 140 guests can!!
I'd want wedding tea party too. think that'd be fun. with dancing involved. lighten the mood, get everybody on their feet and laugh and be happy.
And it's right when people say the bride will look her best that day. It's not just appearance wise, but more like the inner glow and happiness emanating from within. Something which can't stop you from smiling, it's just that wonderful feeling which makes you look wonderful tonight. *grins*
finally had the chance to wear the sweetees dress!

will find a chance to wear it when hanging out with you girls too. ;)
while mr goh looks stiff with his coat on. Hur hur. (he says that's cos his jacket pockets got a lot of ang baos... so very heavy!!)

after banquet, headed to Ritz Carlton's chihuly lounge for some drinks. the place has really changed since the last time i've been there. the band has changed, people working there have changed, the look of the menu has changed.. but the drinks haven't change!! which is a good thing cos i love their cocktails!
this is Coco Jambo. Irish cream, kahlua and cocoa. =)Mr goh had ice passionfruit tea and he asked me why the ice is brown...

and then there's the band.... 3 guys, 100% singaporean. one guy (mervin, the one looking into the camera, pianist) came over and chatted with us. and then later.. this happened.
Somewhere over the rainbow...Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream...Really do come true...
patiently waiting for that moment too. :)
