rendezvous sentosa

The much awaited get-away is finally here and sadly....over.
mr goh can't take leave since his work schedule is like crazy to the max. (I still don't understand why they must work more than 15 hours each day...)
In any case, I'm happy that he made the effort to organise this... :))

so, we got ourselves the Imbiah surpriZe package ($55.50 per person), which is quite worth it really.. the imbiah lookout is the new happening place on sentosa. There are a lot more new rides and attractions and F&B places... and there's Ben & Jerry there too!! the sentosa person said we could finish all the rides and visit all the attractions in 5 hours, but the ticket is valid for two days.. so there's no rush to see everything. Plus, it was drizzling when we got to sentosa.. so we decided to catch the 4D magix show first! Very exciting!!

It was some pirates' show and by 4D, it is 3D plus one more D. haha. but it basically appeals to most of your senses: Sight, hearing, touch. The characters are very real!! almost like they're right in front of you and if you reach out your hand, you'd be able to touch them! and of course, there are the occasional shocks and bumps and splashing of water....it's really entertaining! A must-visit for all.

and then where else to go on a rainy day than to pig out at some makan place! there's Tastes of Singapore, which serves really expensive local flavours. chicken rice is freaking 8 bucks! and there's lobster laksa and satay and chicken wings. Not much variety of local flavours, but good enough.

and there's some kind of sentosa oxygenated water.

and we fiddled with the casio digicam a bit and found out the amazing stuff it can do!! (ok, maybe i very the suaku...)

and yes, i like to pose with drinks...

and we visited images of singapore... which is basically a revamped wax museum... there's still the usual wax figures of sir stamford raffles and our founding fathers but there are a lot more other cultural stuff on display there now...
the wax figurines looks pretty real i must say... and i didn't really want to stay there for long...

I was frightened by this lady actually. real woman, but i thought she was a wax figurine. so yeah, i don't think she was frightened by my screams though.

so, end of indoor stuff for us to do. Next up, Luge and skytrain!
we had to wear styrofoamy helmets (which is a bit disgusting cos some of them are still wet from the rain)

but the ride downhill is pretty exciting! I wish the track is longer though, and the thing i'm sitting on can go faster!! Really smart of sentosa to make use of their landscape. More exciting rides pls!!

Once we reach the bottom of the hill, we took a sky train up, back to where we started. :)

Mr goh is silly enough to count 'One, two, three' when he took pictures of our feet dangling in the air (as if the feet needs time to get ready to smile.. heehee).

The people in front of us... the mechanisms of this whole luge and sky train thing is quite impressive. You take the luge downhill. and the sky train carries the luge and the passengers uphill. chicken feet.

Next up, the Carlsberg Sky Tower.
It is 131 m above sea level when u reach the top most of the tower. Throughout the ride, it slowly rotates 360 degrees so you can see all of sentosa and the neighbouring islands.

Mr goh says I look like a carlsberg girl. : l

I'm awed by the view... hurhur. there's the sijori resort in the middle.

Time for some ice cooler drinks at the Skybar.

whose photography skill is better??

We then took the cable car to Harbourfront for dinner. There's this place which serves really good la mian. I tried their hainanese pork chop la mian, Thumbs up! and the mango pudding was delicious too! mr goh had their omelettle fried rice and we got a "three cup chicken" too. no photos, cos we're too hungry and finished the food!

On the cable car back....we hopped on a PINK cable car. Harhar.

actually wanted to walk along the beach and chill out by the beach bars. but nope, too tired for that. exhausted from work, from having too little sleep the nights before. T-I-R-E-D. then we noticed something strange about the fishes at sijori...they like to drink water!! all the fishes will gather at the "spring" and drink water from there! has it anything to do with sentosa's oxygenated water??

we bought chips but dunno how come we seemed to have misplaced it. and we bought fruit juices (which we conveniently left it in the fridge) and we watched the patriot showing on channel 5. hur... getting old le. and we slept til 12 noon the next day. hur. just in time to check out by 1230pm. we initially wanted to swim in the morning. : l

to the Merlion we go. we tried to pretend we're tourists and we acted silly. Mr goh's initial intention was to put his hands on the seashells.

On top of the merlion...
Mr goh told me the cctv behind me is the telescope and i peered right into it. : l
yes, i can be so bimbotic.

In the merlion's mouth....

and finally, the butterfly park.
on wings of butterflies...

lotsa creepy crawlies!! and cockroaches of all kinds! bigger than my thumb!!

and then there were the fireflies!! and their shiny buttocks. which concluded our time on sentosa island. We must go to the underwater world the next time!!

for now, bye bye sentosa,
Sealed with a kiss,

Sleepover at zee's

It's been a good long weekend... thanks to vesak day. Slept over at Zee's and spend a night on Sentosa island the next day... very very tired. Bashed.

Shall let pictures do the talking...
Dinner at Ichi Ban boshi @ Esplanade.

Most of us have learnt to bring our own cameras... heeh heeh.

Sashimi!!!! Huiru intro a white fishy sashimi.. i forgot what it's called... i tried it and the texture is somewhat like a soft pear (the one below the lemon on the left).

Then drove back to zeee's place for more picture taking and eating!
Got Geylang's dou hua, dou jiang and you tiao!!

I had a lot of you tiao.....

More photos..we were using the self-timer and eileen kept missing the shots. Keke.

A group photo before cake-cutting....

And birthday girl makes her wish!!

and fiddles with her new polariod...

We had disney fairy tale frames.... :D

So... as the Vitamin C song goes... "as we grow old... we remember... all the times we... had together...
and as our lives change.. come whatever... we will still be friends forever... lalalala...."

well, true enough, as we grow older, the bonds of our friendship becomes stronger. We want to be there for each other, and share moments with one another. And we're also sleeping earlier (with Huiru as an exception). We used to be able to chit chat and talk about everything and anything under the stars... well, we tried... but we concussed before 3am.

BLEH

Sleep overs are always fun. We should have a pyjamas party or a facial party or whatever party again soon. :)))

The breakdown of our 4 year old washing machine almost caused a family crisis.

by that i mean the family falling apart. It is ridiculous. my mum seriously need to control her temper. Maybe I need to control mine too, but compared to hers, mine is really 'small house see big house'.

and i don't know what's up with my bro. trying to act cool and quiet.

BAH.

pls make tmr a better day.

Even THUNDER cannot wake him up!

The window panes in my office shook... making clanging sounds as the strong winds brushed past....

Lightning flashed. A few times.

I was anticipating the thunder.

Flash, flash, flash. Still no thunder.. back to work...

then... HONG LONG LONG LONG!! *very loud thunder la!!*

my colleague next to me jumped out of her seat. I quickly glanced round the office to see if the others had the same shock.... but... I got a bigger shock.

Dear mr. AT was SLEEPING!! dozing off, head propped by his left arm. monitor had screensaver turned on.

WAH LAO EH. what kind of person can sleep through thunderous thunder!?!
as if hearing my thoughts, the thunder god decided to prove his point and fired many many shots, a few seconds after one another. still, dear mr. AT did not budge.

me and mae couldn't stop giggling. AT must be sleeping for damn long la! He sleeps every afternoon lor! and it's even more frustrating cos he usually sleeps when my boss is not around... then 'pretends' to be so hard at work and laments to us that he is overloaded with work and can't seem to get used to the idea of managing a few projects concurrently. BUT he has time to doze off at work.

The other time I caught him dozing off (there were only two of us in the office then), I used my mobile to call his direct line. hurhur. very evil i know, but i really enjoyed the moment when he jerked awake....but guess what! he went back to sleep after that!! so i buay tahan, went over to his desk (by this time his eyes were open) and asked him if he's busy. and he GAN GAN say he is!! so i don't care, i delegated some data entry stuff for him to do, so what if he is a phd. simple data entry also cannot do correctly lor.. heng i got check his work.

I also feel tired at work sometimes la! but i just do some eye massaging and look far, look near and shut my eyes for a few minutes. when really buay tahan, eyelids damn heavy, I go to the toilet to steal some forty winks. at least i have the decency to go to the toilet and the max time i spent there is 10 min. wash my face and back to work.

I'm itching to ask dear mr AT what he does at night that makes him so tired in the day. And I'm hoping one day, my boss will call and look for dear mr AT and I can proudly say... oh, AT is busy sleeping at the moment, would you like to call back at a later time?

I like being mean. *GRIN*

I need you to trust me...

I need you to trust me...

That's what ethan hunt told his fiance in MI:3 (i really enjoyed the movie btw)
but back to the topic on trust....

how much can you trust a person? who should be the person you trust? and how would u know when you meet with one? Is it in human nature to generally 'distrust' other people? Do i even trust myself?

Trust is like a prized possession, so precious you'd want to keep it safely by your side, 24/7. and yet, it'll lose its worth unless you share it with someone else, someone whom you think it's worthy of it, to help guard and protect it, so that trust can grow into something else more beautiful.

Taking the first step to handing 'trust' over to someone else could be tough.
just like when Julia questions Ethan, "is this (love) for real?"
there's this split second when you have to learn to trust your own judgement, trust the other person, believe and stick with it.

easier said than done.

it's all looking good this month...

I have concluded that May will be a good month for me.

1) Firstly, it means that one-third of the year is gone, and very soon, there'll be the new year to look forward to. I always 'wow' at how fast time flies by... and I really wish this year will be a better year than the last one.

2) Two sweeties were born in this month, and there's gonna be so much birthday fun!
planning to back to Top of the M for drinks, and gonna have a dessert party at zee's!

3) 24th will mark my one year anniversary with the firm. We've just got awarded three new projects! I'll be working on two of them. One of it is market sizing for breast implants in, where else... Asian countries.... Average cup size for Asians are reported to be 34C. okay! Cheapest surgery here would cost you $2000 plus, most expensive would be around $10,000!! I'm gonna learn about all the different breast implants surgical methods and do some 'mystery shopping' with the cosmetic surgeons (meaning, i will have to pretend I REALLY want to have a boob job and go find out more from the surgeons)ha ha, if u see me around with bigger boobs, just keep the secret to yourself. Ha ha.

4) Great Singapore sale is around the corner!! I always congratulate myself for working in town, cos I can still get to the retail shops without taking day-offs! muahahaha....
and I've just sold my canon for 189, which effectively made my new casio exilim cost 59 bucks only!! *jumps around like a mad rabbit*

5) Boss will be gone to Germany whole of next week, and then come back for one week, and gone to europe again for the next. China man will be gone to beijing for one week. Yipee! Although i'd really love to travel for work, i guess it's good enough that people at work travel.

6) and mr goh's booked the sijori resort!! I'm like how excited.. even though it is only to sentosa.. ha ha. I've looked at the sentosa website, printed out all their F&B outlets, the new attractions/places to visit in Sentosa and the map of Sentosa!! Haha, feel like a damn suaku tourist. looking forward to visiting the underwater world, butterfly park and the new imbiah lookout place! okay...i keep exclaiming! so yep, I can't wait for the next long weekend! Yippee!! and.. mothers' day round the corner too... will make it a point to tell my mum that i'm really proud of her and all that she's done for the family. (would be better if she's a bit less naggy though.. hehe)

more updates later!

may day weekend...

So, I didn't meet my project deadline last Friday and boss didn't text me or anything over the weekend, which is good... cos I really needed to get away from my new colleagues, or from work totally for that matter. I don't remember the last time I had a really good time, holidaying. Overseas work assignment don't count, cos although it's fun to learn this new, independent side of you while you're travelling alone, meeting up with new people, it is really ultimately quite lonely at the end of the day.

Saturday was k lunch with mr. peh, finally...after countless pang sehs. I'm not sure how i should be feeling about the way things turned out btn him and a certain girl. i just pray she doesn't do anything funny again, because karma really exists. Just read my entry in may last year -do you believe in karma.......

Attended yun's baptism on sunday morning. Really happy to see her take a step forward and commit herself to something which she truly believes in. It'll be a whole new way of living life and viewing things around us. :) happy for you, angela!
Eileen, post the pictures soon! better still, send us to our gmail accounts!

Lunch at crystal jade HV was another round of bashing irritating people in our lives, some politicky discussions and travel plans (fun places for some-like taipei and far away and scary sounding places-like karzakstan, not even sure if it's spelt this way)

and then off to my complimentary skin analysis at Kanebo! They have this machine thingy which will magnify your pores many many times!!! It's quite scary looking. Anyway, my skin lacks moisture!! People who work in the office, pls moisturise!!
The beauty consultant was telling me how everything will go downhill after 25 years of age. yikes.

The MUMMY returns!

Mr Goh took the pics while I had the face mask thingy on. I was trying hard not to laugh and just wanted to relax my face.

The MUMMY returns yet again!

I'm supposed to do this face masky thing 2-3 times a month on my own...... reminds me of the saying that goes, there's no ugly women in this world but only lazy women! I mean, I already have trouble keeping up to the 3 step regime every day and night. Cleanse, tone and moisturise. Now the lady suggests i put a UV protector sheen on top as well! That'll be 15 min of my time in the morning, which means I'll have to wake up earlier to do all these. really takes some effort to do all these religiously.

but the effects were wonderful!!

Pink, glowy, dewy skin. Need to do something about my eye bags though.

So, all in all, i spent quite a bit on my mum's cosmetics and my own. and since there was some promotional thing at metro (min spend of 400) and you'd be able to get the casio exilim at 49% off. so.... I got that as well!!

Not an impulsive buy... i hope (me and mr goh went to courts to check out the camera first) 49% off leh! and comes with 256mb sd card and free leather case!! Haha, yah, very auntie to mention the freebies, i know. So, we decided it's quite a steal and it's time i get a new digicam too. twice the megapixel of the old canon and so much cheaper!!!! Technology and its way of creative destruction. I love gadgets!
