Oasis Board Games! Pictionary!

Pictionary is a damn nice/fun/exciting game to play. Met up the girls to have dinner at liang seah zi char... yun just came back from europe nt long ago and gggoh came back from Philippines too (no, she is not a maid.) she was there on a mission trip, and came back with some pounds shed. mr goh suggests that i go for such trips too, for all the wrong reasons. heh, but that made me think of those days spent in Karimun, Indonesia... where i was there for a week, painting the schools, teaching the students english, telling them everything about Singapore, went trekking and crawling into bat caves (which made me realise that i am really claustrophobic) and so on and so on...

anyway, back to the pictionary game. mich, ru and fen were in one team, me, gggoh and yun another. and so the battle begins! Everyone is geared up to win the game. Pens ready, thinking caps put on and get set....go! we screamed, banged the tables, made a hell lot of noise... and it's interesting to see how different people think differently...

like...for the same thing that we are supposed to draw... there are soooo many different ways you can do it and soooo many different things that your team mates can guess (however inaccurate...) and i was supposed to draw an ice chest. so i drew an ice cube... then i drew a treasure chest like box....but not very effective...so i drew a macho chest. how would you have drawn it?

go try pictionary some day... :)

Batman Begins

Batman begins is really a nice show... esp when batman holds quite some significance for me and mr goh. and christian bale looks great in the batsuit! and this show is definitely 100 times better than mr and mrs smith (and their super over exaggerated invincible action moves, which i must say is quite badly choreographed esp the final shooting scene which made me want to stand up and shoot them dead instead).

went to emerald orchard food court for dinner. well, mr goh ate but i watched. and he had soem ridiculously priced bak kut teh $5! for a bowl of rice and 3 bak kuts. and he made me take a pic of his ridiculous bak kut teh....

went back office to collect stuff from the traffic counters.. the office is like a second home to me now... and i'm pretty glad it's in town...coz i get to meet people i know (sometimes), spoilt for choice when it comes to lunch time, and get to see what's happening in orchard road... (they put up fantastic 4 figures at the traffic junction at Heeren/Mandarin Hotel/Singapore Visitors' Centre/California Fitness over night! so I was quite happy that morning coz it's something colourful to add to my day in office.

overall, it's been a nice weekend... looking forward to the next....

Bumping into one another....

When i was on my way to work from home this morning, i waved to a stranger and smiled at him. No, i wasn't out of my mind.... i think i was more like half awake and thought he resembled a friend who stays near my place... so i gave him a "firm" wave and a bright smile. Only when i was like 5 steps away from him then i realised that it's a case of mistaken identity. so Paisay. Heng he was on the phone. He actually looked behind himself to make sure that i was waving at him n not some other chap. To make things worse, there was only traffic behind him and i could not pretend i was waving to someone behind him.... :(

I bumped into a primary school friend some nights ago. we used to be neighbours when we were still primary school girls. We'll go to school together, have lunch together, play hopscotch, zero point together, loiter ard after school together and go home together. It was nice seeing her after so long and finding out that she is doing well and all. pity we weren't as close as before.

then last night, bumped into another friend, miss xie. well, actually, i bumped(literally) into mr goh when miss xie enthusiastically called my name and i had the shock of my life and blanked out for a milisecond and bumped into mr goh. pleasant surprise.... :)

So i say... it's really nice to bump into friends when you're out. esp friends who hold a dear place in your heart.

Nolstagia

was at Holland V just now...made me realise how long i haven't been there. got some new cafes there which look really nice (must go there again sometime, for some relaxing moments) and there was still the old holland village shopping centre. I used to frequent HV a lot when i was in NJ. kinda like a studying place for me since it was rather near my house...my favourite hunt was starbucks. the smell of coffee keeps me awake and the staff don't really bother you.

was looking for a place to lunch, so went into delifrance and saw groups of acjc students studying there, preparing for their A levels. man.. A levels was like 4 yrs ago for myself!! i feel old.. and i saw the familiar TYS from redspot and what not. and i thought about the times i had to do those stuff and agonize over them. and i thought about my study kakis too.

and i just sat there for the afternoon thinking of all the times i spent at HV. sweet.

Woman at work

That's me at workdesk. time was probably 745pm and it was a saturday. was alone in the office coz my colleague has got a gathering to attend to and one of my surveyors worked an extra half hour so i gotta wait for her. The table was pretty neat when i first started working....but somehow or rather, it's very messy now. I shall keep a mental note to keep everything clean and neat.

watching american idol(repeat) in mr goh's room now. i must say carrie has power lungs but she sounds really strained and off key some times. thought bo did better. but oh well. she won. and what's with the dawg man?

tired...tmr still gotta work man... and big boss is back from tokyo! no more eating snake...
