We had a good primary school reunion the first weekend

I was back in Singapore

BBQ/Chalet turned night of wasteful drinking

driving all over the island

clementi to pasir ris to yishun to st james to clementi to serangoon

super wasted that night

but it was all good fun

It's coming to the end of year once more

I didn't even have time to stop to evaluate what I've accomplished (or failed) in 2007

work busy

party busy

festive season busy

perhaps that's a good thing

cos I don't have time to feel depressed/neurotic

about what's done in 2007

It will be a remarkable 2008.

For the second day in a row
COMFORT has proven to be unbeatable

I tried to advance call for a cab at midnight
was put on hold for a good 20 minutes with no operator

nevermind

I know it's quite impossible to advance call for 8am cab at 12am

so this morning
I called for cab and managed to get one which would arrive in 7-9 minutes

Learnt my lesson and went down early

hm. 9th minute and no cab in sight.

blood boiling

called comfort again

"Sorry mam, I can't locate your taxi."

WHAT? it vanished into thin air, did it?

"I'll get you another cab right away - there's a cab just along blah blah blah blah and would arrive in 5 min."

A merz cab then pulled up
driver unwound his window
"Ey, you got call for taxi? Your driver went off with my passenger la!"

YOU WATCH OUT!!!!!

I made an advance taxi booking last night

for pick this morning 8am at my void deck

so that I can get to Hotel Intercontinental in time

for the Conference and Workshop by 830am.

Promptly at 8am

I got this automatic phone call from Comfort

informing me that the taxi has arrived

I was still putting on the last touches of make up

a minute later

the driver (belonging to a certain m-yoyo club) called me

"Yes, I'm going down in a couple of minutes' time."

He said ok and hung up.

NB!!!!!

when I went down

he was no where to be seen!!!

so I called him

"I went off already. You call another cab."

WHAT?!?!?!

Hello??? Did I not say i'm on my way???

Yes, I admit that it's MY FAULT for not being on time

but he was not even waiting for more than 10 minutes

and he RAN OFF just like that??

FYI

Advance booking fee is $5.20

+ Peak Hour surchage $2.00

+ ERP $2.00

He is getting a good $9.20 in his pockets

without burning his petrol

Can he do the math or not?

It is NOT like I told him I don't need a cab any more

I said I am coming down.

Can he understand English or not?

It is SO DAMN BLOODY IRRESPONSIBLE la!

There is a reason why I make ADVANCE BOOKING leh.

It is just WRONG of him to

1) run off without informing me

2) run off without indicating to call centre to get another cab for me

If there is an EMERGENCY

and he needs to run off

at least inform the call centre to get another cab here right???

I am SO disappointed with the service of COMFORT

1) bad experience with the drivers

2) bad experience with the hot lines/operators

I really hate the automatic assumption of where the pickup location is

and the annoying computer voice that goes

"For pick up at (pause) Cairhill Road (pause) Cairnhill Place (pause)

Please press (pause) ONE (pause)... yada yada..."

complete waste of my time.

and to think they boast of the largest fleet of taxis on the island

and they are going to raise taxi fare this coming Monday.

What the HELL is going on???

Last night in HK

ended with a bang (literally)

a wonderful evening with Mr Jay Chou

fion, steph and fiona

I'm finally done packing.....

One full luggage of only clothes

another 1/4 clothes, the rest of it shoes

and a duffle bag of bags

laptop bag, and handbag

Still, i've got things left behind.

I cannot imagine how I'm gonna pack everything in

without the 'shipments' every time someone came to visit

my throat is still hurting

from the cold and sneezing

and from singing along with jay chou the entire night

I wonder if knowing his lyrics by heart is any good

cos each time he tripped over his lyrics

I ... i... sigh.

without a doubt, he is still so so talented

I want to carry him home with me.

Too much food and fun over the weekend

I am so tired..

and sick

sore throat
leaking nose
pale yellowish phlegm

tomorrow night is jay's concert

I need to get well

but there is so much work to do.

so so much.

I feel weak.

I still have stuff to pack.

I don't even know where to start.

Leaving HK in 2 days' time.

Mixed feelings

Been away from home in 6 months.

6 good months.

Miss the 3 weeks spent in Melbourne/sydney with dad

such a good holiday

I want to do it again

I'll miss waking up at 830am

and taking the leisurely stroll to work

I'll miss friends in HK

Miss the wild (and long) nights of partying

(where do I even gather the energy from?!?)

I'll miss how winter feels on my face

I need to remember

how it feels like

to be home
