Retail therapy
works.
I have never splurged so much on myself one weekend
when I'm back in Singapore.
A bunch of winter clothes, skin care, a new watch, hairdo, accessories.
Staying in causeway bay has much to contribute.
On top of that, I try to justify my irrational spending
by how hard I work during the week.
And according to Kain, our HK salary has just grown in value by 10%.
Great way to spend those HK dollars ... on sing dollars stuff... which I did:

These are just too pretty to resist! from www.ochacream.com
Although zhijin said I can probably find similar stuff at mongkok... at much cheaper price....
oh well. I need some pampering.
I find that I'm pampering myself a lot more here in HK.
Am I really that unhappy here?

Get a workout while you walk - Fitflops

I haven't been wearing flipflops since I got to HK. I've brought my birks here when I first arrived, but asked Mr Goh or the girls (I can't remember which group) to take it home for me, along with the other of my shopping stuff - cos I was simply accumulating too many shoes here.
So I had been in heels and covered toes all these while.
It felt liberating to finally have my feet breathe and feel the spring in my steps - 'Bo-ing!'
And hopefully.. in a few months' time... my legs would look like this...

Muahahahaha!

Rain rain go away....
Went facial with Fion today - at Maggie Beauty (http://www.maggiebeauty.com/)
Honestly, for HKD 250, the deep cleansing treatment is really not good - only the HK artiste who endorse it looks extremely good.
I felt like I could do a better job steaming my face, and applying mud mask on my face.
Their service was not fantastic in the first place, and the lady didn't let me know what she's putting on my face at each stage - unlike my therapists at Wellness Village Spa.
I think it's important to interact with the customer, since they're supposedly the pros - who can advise what/how I should take care of my skin. No thank-yous to comments like, 'Wah, your skin very dirty.' I know that already, that's why I'm spending $$ to pay your salary. BLEH.
So we went shopping for skincare products at Sogo CWB thereafter. Women have a tad too many beauty products to choose from - each brand claiming to do wonders to your skin and help preserve your youth.
Some good products Fion recommends:
1. Clinique Total Turnaround Visible Skin Renewer
2. Laneige Water Sleeping Pack Plus - gel-like mask to put overnight
3. Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil
Ah... if only Emperor Qin did find life's elixir.
We found good food though. XO Cai Tao Kuay. Papaya with Hashima and sago. Steamed egg white with Hashima and bird's nest. 'Tong Baig Laig'-Peanut glutinous balls.

And we did something very naughty after that.
We went to all the jewelry stores along causeway bay to look at engagement rings - and erm, pretended that our bfs are going to propose - so we're checking out the designs to make sure they don't buy something we don't like. =)
So we got free lessons on how to choose a good diamond.
The diamonds and the engagement rings all start to look the same by the time we got to the third shop. =_=
Some of these rings are crazily priced - S$25k! which Eric chin said...'Imagine wat 25k can do for your marriage ...things u can buy for your new house ...much much more practical than a lousy ring that u be too scared to wear out everyday'
Haha, that's true... but diamonds are forever, and a girl's best friend too! ;) Saw from one of the store's booklets that a 75 years anniversary is known as Diamond Anniversary.
You can wear it for 75 years! 25k divide by 75 is only 333 per year and less than S$1 a day! Quite a good investment to make the love of your life happy right? *wink*
Haha, siao liao.

Really a 'Labour' Day
What/Who else would have made me so motivated to get to town so early in the morning.... other than... Mr Toh, or Mr HOT. :D
Two crazy gym session followed. 90 min each. BodyJam vs Nike Rock Star Workout AND BodyCombat BLAST. My legs could hardly kick properly in the last 30 minutes. I must be really crazy to have stayed for the second session.
And to reward myself.... Mr Goh and I went Shimbashi! Soba So GOOD! (We walked a freaking 30 minutes from Cathay to Paragon can, under the hot sweltering sun.)

Mr Goh calculated and said we're going to be seeing each other for 4 weeks out of 8 weeks in May and June (since I'm going to HK/GZ and Melb/Syd). Probably the longest time (to date) that we're not seeing each other. So, instead of going to work, I decided that I should probably spend as much time as I can with him and also, give myself a break from work. Quality Work, Quality Life. Shall work EXTREMELY hard tmr then.
We actually wanted to go for a haircut together, but Mr Goh found out that his stylist had quit and he doesn't really trust the others at Kimage. I... I..I... get nervous whenever it comes to haircut... but I seriously need to cut my hair. Eileen suggested that I do it in HK... hmm... will need to give that some thought, maybe?
So Far East shopping it shall be. Shoes Shoes Shoes!

Bought another piece of polka dotted blouse. I've got A LOT of polka dotted stuff. I need to stop. And 3 for $10 necklaces - best bargain of the day. Muahahaa.
Need to stop shopping in Sg, and save up moolah to spend in HK (although the Great Singapore Sale is coming up)!
Mr Goh, on the other hand, is much much much more a rational shopper than I am. He didn't used to ask me to choose colours for him. Tonight, we debated over the colour of his Adidas cap for 30 minutes. Blue or White, this design or that design. Goodness.
I think we've picked up (bad) habits from each other along the way - which is ... quite hilarious. :D

It only takes a spark...
such a hectic week, tmr being the last day of CommunicAsia. After the drama on Tuesday, wednesday and thurs is much more peaceful. and i definitely feel more encouraged when my boss said I did a really GOOD JOB, really needed such a pat on the back. A pay raise would be like a two thumbs and toe thumbs up. hur.
and THANKS girls for your smses. :)
i'm feeling better now.. after some retail theraphy. GRIN. Mango sale has officially started today! Yesterday was opened only to mng card members. so me and mae went during lunch today. heehee.
madness. Boyfriends really shouldn't be allowed into MNG during sale period. (1) It is already so freaking crowded (2) you can't see your gf wearing the stuff and give your valuable comments (3) if you want to pay for your gf's items, wait only at the cashier. The lady can definitely handle rummaging through the messy stack of clothing if she tries hard enough and wants it bad enough. period.
anyways, CommunicAsia is really a very exciting telecommunications show!! so many new gadgets! phones! cameras! bluetooth stuff! I'm gonna take lotsa photos tmr, hopefully... if i can find the time.
but today we tried something really exciting. it's a bluetooth ring. so basically, you wear the ring-like thing and you'd be able to dial and have phone conversations without takign out your mobile handset. It works by vibration... converting vibration into sound waves which will be recognised by your ear drum. FASCINATING stuff. but mostly prototypes. the future is really full of unlimited potential for technology to develop... and i'm looking forward to it.

Fun-Filled Fridayyyyy....
had to get to office early cos boss will be having a conference call in the morning and i'm not sure if he knows how to operate the 3-way phone conferencing function on the phone... but turned out that the other associate is dialling from home, so that's not a problem...
and I really wanted to do work today. 100% concentration, so i can finish up the report asap. which is a good thing, cos halfway while I was working, boss came round and asked to use my comp to skype, cos he's lost his skype sign in and password, will have to use my account to dial in to other shareholders. phew, heng don't have any non-work related windows opened on my comp. HeeeH.
have got a 2pm meeting in the afternoon with boss and client at harbour front centre. so i head out for lunch with mae first while boss was still having conference call. and he mentioned he'll be going home after the call... and i was hoping he wouldn't want me to tag along for the interview later....but..... he called and asked me to cab there myself. So.... quick lunch, back to office, brushed my teeth, grabbed the laptop and hopped on a cab.
that's when the day starts to get more exciting....
i asked the driver to take me to harbourfront centre, and i'm running late. then i ran for the lift before the door closed. there were a few people in the lift, and when i looked, it doesn't go to the level the office is!! so, i just pressed the lowest level it goes to (level 10) and was frantically pressing BUT the freaking level button didn't light up!! so i keep pressing and presing and pressing... still never light up... okay never mind.. i go back down to the 1st level.... then i looked for the lift lobby which goes to level 9...and started pressing 9 9 9 9 9...then this guy came into the lift, swiped a card near a sensor thing and pressed a level number... i almost fainted. cos the other people in the first lift must be laughing at me like siao!! but none of them offered to tell me what i should do!! ARGH. but this guy is also only half-kind. he told me i have to get a card from the security before i can access the levels, while i was hoping he would help me get to my level. BAH.
so i went down to the security. and... TADAH! i found that i was at the wrong building. the cab driver brought me to harbourfront TOWER, when i asked for harbourfront CENTRE. great, time check, 15 min late. boss called to ask where i am. : l heng the tower is just next to the centre. and heng, when i got there, the interviewee was out of the conference room to get some materials. BUT then, my laptop didn't start properly and i was fiddling with it when my boss and client were conversing. i would have dug a hole in the ground and sticked my head inside.
so great, interview went off pretty well, boss had to head off to another meeting, so i cab back to office on my own. and surprise surprise! mae told me allen thought she didn't understand chinese and was making personal phone calls in the office and speaking quite loudly... but he suddenly hush hushed when i returned. sigh. i'm not sure if u're tired of hearing stuff about dear mr AT, but i'm quite tired of his antics. and since he knew boss was not going to come back for the rest of the day, we were secretly hoping he would fall asleep, cos we've got our cameras ready. ha ha.
then time went by and i can still hear dear mr AT clicking his mouse away, oh well, better to concentrate on my work....until i wanted to pee... and i saw him sleeping!! hand was on the mouse no doubt...but only for show!! so, we decided to be more daring and took closer up pics of AT. hurhur... my heart was beating so fast it almost leaped out of my mouth!!

hurhurhurhurhur... it takes forever to upload the video on youtube.... but if u've seen the clip, my hand was trembling. i was so scared he would wake up! haha, but mae said he should be more worried if he wakes up. ha ha
then to the dior addict party with mae. the new fragrance is really quite nice! one of those scent which doesn't leave me sneezing and sneezing. and the model for the make up tips session was very tall la!!

then there was the midnight shopping at wisma.. and i decided to be 'auntie' and shop til a min of 150 so i can get lucky draw chances and maybe win a subaru! also get a 20 wisma voucher for spending min. 120. heeh heeh. but i am so stupid. i paid 12 bucks in cash, so i couldn't qualify for the min. 150 lucky dip!! oh well... too tired le.. but i must say...good service will always guarantee good shopping experience!!

friday night @ clementi
In any case, we had claypot rice, you cai and BBQ stingray. No need to go chomp chomp for BBQ stingray anymore!! and the claypot rice is nice too! the rice doesn't stick to the claypot, which usually happens especially at food courts.

Mr Peh is also the one who told me about the special effects of apple vinegar. It supposedly helps u to lose weight and have a whole long list of other health benefits. I just wish mr peh will stop smoking soon...he says he's just a social smoker and will stop once his IA ends. well, if you're reading this entry, I wish you'll keep to that! Jun zi yi yan, four hourses cannot chase!
and yah, the GSS has OFFICIALLY started. 8 weeks of wild wild shopping! Me and mae spent some time during lunch shopping. Haha. saw a really nice polka dotted halter from MNG's catalogue, but when we asked the storeperson, the same item comes with blue polkadots instead of brown! which is not really that nice on a cream base halter. well, shan't buy when it's not on sale anyway.
M)phosis is having crazy sales though. 50-70%. I went in, grabbed a few pieces that's my size, Q up and paid. It helps when you already know your size and/or have tried the same piece before it went on sale, so there's no need to spend time queueing to try them on. ;) I read from FEMALE that when you SPEND during a sale, you're in fact SAVING!
so everybody, the mad rush has begun. put on your shopping shoes.

it's all looking good this month...
1) Firstly, it means that one-third of the year is gone, and very soon, there'll be the new year to look forward to. I always 'wow' at how fast time flies by... and I really wish this year will be a better year than the last one.
2) Two sweeties were born in this month, and there's gonna be so much birthday fun!
planning to back to Top of the M for drinks, and gonna have a dessert party at zee's!
3) 24th will mark my one year anniversary with the firm. We've just got awarded three new projects! I'll be working on two of them. One of it is market sizing for breast implants in, where else... Asian countries.... Average cup size for Asians are reported to be 34C. okay! Cheapest surgery here would cost you $2000 plus, most expensive would be around $10,000!! I'm gonna learn about all the different breast implants surgical methods and do some 'mystery shopping' with the cosmetic surgeons (meaning, i will have to pretend I REALLY want to have a boob job and go find out more from the surgeons)ha ha, if u see me around with bigger boobs, just keep the secret to yourself. Ha ha.
4) Great Singapore sale is around the corner!! I always congratulate myself for working in town, cos I can still get to the retail shops without taking day-offs! muahahaha....
and I've just sold my canon for 189, which effectively made my new casio exilim cost 59 bucks only!! *jumps around like a mad rabbit*
5) Boss will be gone to Germany whole of next week, and then come back for one week, and gone to europe again for the next. China man will be gone to beijing for one week. Yipee! Although i'd really love to travel for work, i guess it's good enough that people at work travel.
6) and mr goh's booked the sijori resort!! I'm like how excited.. even though it is only to sentosa.. ha ha. I've looked at the sentosa website, printed out all their F&B outlets, the new attractions/places to visit in Sentosa and the map of Sentosa!! Haha, feel like a damn suaku tourist. looking forward to visiting the underwater world, butterfly park and the new imbiah lookout place! okay...i keep exclaiming! so yep, I can't wait for the next long weekend! Yippee!! and.. mothers' day round the corner too... will make it a point to tell my mum that i'm really proud of her and all that she's done for the family. (would be better if she's a bit less naggy though.. hehe)
more updates later!

may day weekend...
Saturday was k lunch with mr. peh, finally...after countless pang sehs. I'm not sure how i should be feeling about the way things turned out btn him and a certain girl. i just pray she doesn't do anything funny again, because karma really exists. Just read my entry in may last year -do you believe in karma.......
Attended yun's baptism on sunday morning. Really happy to see her take a step forward and commit herself to something which she truly believes in. It'll be a whole new way of living life and viewing things around us. :) happy for you, angela!
Eileen, post the pictures soon! better still, send us to our gmail accounts!
Lunch at crystal jade HV was another round of bashing irritating people in our lives, some politicky discussions and travel plans (fun places for some-like taipei and far away and scary sounding places-like karzakstan, not even sure if it's spelt this way)
and then off to my complimentary skin analysis at Kanebo! They have this machine thingy which will magnify your pores many many times!!! It's quite scary looking. Anyway, my skin lacks moisture!! People who work in the office, pls moisturise!!
The beauty consultant was telling me how everything will go downhill after 25 years of age. yikes.
The MUMMY returns!

Mr Goh took the pics while I had the face mask thingy on. I was trying hard not to laugh and just wanted to relax my face.
The MUMMY returns yet again!

I'm supposed to do this face masky thing 2-3 times a month on my own...... reminds me of the saying that goes, there's no ugly women in this world but only lazy women! I mean, I already have trouble keeping up to the 3 step regime every day and night. Cleanse, tone and moisturise. Now the lady suggests i put a UV protector sheen on top as well! That'll be 15 min of my time in the morning, which means I'll have to wake up earlier to do all these. really takes some effort to do all these religiously.
but the effects were wonderful!!

Pink, glowy, dewy skin. Need to do something about my eye bags though.
So, all in all, i spent quite a bit on my mum's cosmetics and my own. and since there was some promotional thing at metro (min spend of 400) and you'd be able to get the casio exilim at 49% off. so.... I got that as well!!

Not an impulsive buy... i hope (me and mr goh went to courts to check out the camera first) 49% off leh! and comes with 256mb sd card and free leather case!! Haha, yah, very auntie to mention the freebies, i know. So, we decided it's quite a steal and it's time i get a new digicam too. twice the megapixel of the old canon and so much cheaper!!!! Technology and its way of creative destruction. I love gadgets!

The Great Singapore Sale
so now, i'm just chilling out in the office. listening to the music which karsten has in his ipod. Real chill out songs. the room seemed colder when he started playing them and i just felt like having a cup of hot cocoa to go along.
finally met up with mr goh after a hectic week. but i did the most stupid thing. See, he offered to fetch me to work today coz he said he'll be going back to hall to collect some stuff and will drop by to bring me to work and go fix the comp after that. Happened that he woke up late and could only pick me up to work. and i have to be in the office by 12pm coz the temp workers will be coming by to collect their materials. so when mr goh reached my place at 11 40, i screamed at him. Well, not exactly scream...but my tone was obviously not very nice. and i regretted the moment i said that. we haven't met for a week and that is the first thing i have to do to him. So, mr goh... i'm really sorry for screaming at you this morning. I guess i was pressed for time coz i thought the people will come in on time. but surprise surprise, they were late as usual. so heck, i'd rather show more care and concern towards people i love than towards my work.
First lesson learnt from working. time to do some shopping now. :)
