Never liked farewells

It's hard to imagine the bonds I made with people I only know for a week
the last weekend in Sao Paulo was the best time I spent in the city
Dinner and drinks at a local pub
with Norberto and wife, Alex and Elina
Lotsa beer and laughter
New portugese vocabulary learnt
I love these people

and it disgusts me to know our locals don't treat one another this way
I probably drank the most beer in my entire drinking history
the beer man just keep shoving glasses to you once you've finished your glass
and we still managed to go for desserts afterwards

at Ofner - 24 hours Brasil cafe
where Elina and Alex shared stories of their lives in Sao Paulo
how they met and fell in love (7 years!)
they're such a lovely couple
I'd really want to be at their wedding when the day comes
By the time i got back to the hotel
it was 5.30am
I took a shower and the sun had risen
Didn't sleep the whole night - packed my luggage - which is ready to burst
Lunch was at a Churrasco restaurant with Alex and Elina
lotsa meat - mr goh would have loved it

tried chicken heart and i didn't like it - haha
I didn't have time to visit downtown Sao Paulo
so Alex drove around downtown and explained the various history and buildings

and showed me the ugliest building in Sao Paulo

and introduced me to the exotic fruits of Brasil
I really like the high caloric Acai =)
I was going to take a taxi to the airport myself
but they offered to send me there
Alex: 'okay, i'm now going to turn my taxi meter on'
he's such a funny guy
he shared his experiences of missing flights
and i laughed until my stomach hurt
'a boy stuck in grown man's body' - is what mr goh calls him.

Took me 1 hour to queue and have my luggage checked in,
and i slept while standing in the line (alex: you're not allowed to sleep while queueing in brasil)
When it finally came to my turn,
the airline staff told me the gate is next to mackerdollagie
I: Huh? Do you speak english?
Airline staff: Yes. gate next to mackerdollagie.
I: what mackerdollagie?
Airline: yes, mackerdollagie.
I: Errrr... okay. mackerdollagie.
Turns out mackerdollagie is macdonalds in portugese.
then the worst part came
farewell
the hugs, the 'take care', 'i'll miss you', 'i'll write', 'i'll send you the pictures', 'thanks for taking care of me'
and i know it's going to be years before we ever meet again on the same land.
and tears just rolled down uncontrollably.

unloading the weight on my heart to the web

So.... whatever sneaky happenings last week materialised today. All this while, I knew things will eventually turn out this way. The next two to three months will spell C-R-A-Z-Y.

But I know I will survive, we will survive. I have unknowingly taken a bit more responsibility towards the company than I expected.

Speaking to an ex colleague, I told him about what's going on at work and such. I told him I felt a bit lost, especially since i've witnessed every one of my colleagues leaving.

Then he said, 'actually, I think you're doing well and you enjoy your work. The most important thing is that you enjoy your work. The company gives us a lot of opportunities to handle every aspect of project management. You won't get these kind of exposure in bigger companies, in (insert big consulting company he worked with after he left us), I was not given these opportunities at all. I think the jobs skills required of THE APPRENTICE are similar to what we learnt from working with Peter."

The sweeties also sorted out my thoughts....
"there are different types of people, can perform very well during interviews, can perform well for the daily tasks. you are capable or more."
"you should really be looking forward.... there'll probably be more opportunities for you."

still, i felt restless at work today. The decision to still make it for gym class was a GOOD one. During that 60 minutes, I was only concentrating on easing the pain in my legs and stomach. During that 60 minutes, I manage to really laugh (at my instructor's jokes), feel the sweat trickle down my back and just think of doing that additional squat/crunch/leg raise to make up the count.

Mr goh was around to further sort my thoughts during dinner.

He reminded me that there are two types of people (honest and dishonest) and also that career mismatch is a serious problem. You'll never do well at work if you don't enjoy what you're doing, or is always unhappy about the pay you're getting, if your career expectations are not met and yada yada...

Oh well, I'm not going to think so much liao. My colleagues will start their new lives, while I work my way through mine, the kind of living that I'm still happy with and enjoying, at least for now. There ain't no mountain high enough.....

And thanks girls for keeping me sane.

thank you mr goh for keeping me grounded.

Great expectations

For the past week, I've listened to people's stories, about expectations; expectations of themselves, of others close to them, and their future together. I realised that circumstances shape people, how we're brought up molds us, the way we think, the way we expect to be treated, how the world looks through each of our eyes, how ,in the future we'd want our children to live the way we're living, if not better.

The final blueprint for living life, the big picture, will somewhat be similar for everybody, but how we get there differs.

Relationships are like that, i guess.

You constantly need to meet expectations of each and everyone in that circle, like the different layers of the onion, until you reach the core. You get frustrated by others (the other layers) so much so that sometimes, you forgot who you're really in love with.

I shared with Mr Goh my thoughts about the future, my own kind of expectations and secretly hopes that his are the same as mine. Where it's not, hopefully we'd compromise.

While browsing furniture at Harvey Norman today, we have a glimpse of what our future home will look like. I told him I want an oven in the kitchen, doesn't matter if I don't bake. I just want an oven. And he said, together with the oven, he will get me the ironing board, the washing machine, and the vacuum as well. His sense of humour really tickles me.

I'm not sure if talking about things like these is still too early??

Though he says he's frustrated that he's reached a stage where he's ready to move forward, yet he can't because of practical realities. I feel his frustrations too, and I don't mind moving forward but I guess good things, like good wine, needs to be cultured over time.

Patience rewards those who wait? Will there really be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

only time can tell, really.

as for now, just hold on dearly and savour every moment of it.

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. Charles Dickens, Great Expectations.

attraction of the wrong kind

While on the train home last night (cos met ru and mich for dinner, if not i usually take the bus), I saw this Indian man wink at me, from the other end of the cabin....

At first I thought I was imagining things, too much workout-two classes in a row, my limbs almost giving way, my biological clock says it's time to sleep....

Then, he did it again.

So I looked back, thinking that he could be my Indian friend from primary school or JC.... but no look like anyone I know leh....

So...I sent an sms to mich, just something to keep my mind and fingers working, although from the reflection I could still see him staring at me.

City hall stop: I would usually get out and go to the platform upstairs to take the green line... but i decided i will take to raffles place instead...

and he came to sit right next to me!

"Hi, what's your name?"

I: raised eyebrow

"I'm a tourist, I come from Sri Lanka and I would like to make friends with you..."

I: continue to fiddle with phone

"Can we talk?"

I: "erh... I don't think I want to... it's late and I'm on my way home."

"I can go home with you?"

I: "WHAT?!"

DING DONG... RAFFLES PLACE...

hurriedly walked out and started punching Mr Goh's number on my phone..

"I just want to make friends and talk... I'm also going home...."

I: "SORRY, I need to talk to my boyfriend."

BUT MR GOH DIDN'T PICK UP HIS PHONE.

and the sri lankan hung around, giving me looks, when I finally decided to STARE back at him. That sort of did the trick and he didn't follow me on the west bound train.

why i always kenna this kinda things ah, in delhi, in taipei... and now in spore...

why never let me meet some prince or knight... who will marry me and take me to his castle and ride on horses everyday.... (we met a sec sch friend who got married to someone like that last night too)

then again, who knows... I might have turned away the maharaja's son last night...

Dinner with Khan

I had the most wonderful dinner with Khan tonight (061202). I’ve been trying to get him to dine with me since he started driving me around for the week. His quiet sense of humour, his warm smile and his thoughts and dreams; all of these make him such a nice person to be with. It was very comfortable being around him.

He told me this Germany girl once asked him to marry her, but he didn’t agree cos it would mean leaving his family behind. Shaking his head, he said, ‘I cannot leave my family behind. If she wants to be with me, she has to stay in India with me.’ Being the sole bread winner, he simply cannot do that. And of course, he was not in love with the German girl. Now he’s a married man, the girl still makes her trips to India to find Khan. I can tell he is very much in love with his wife and they have an adorable son – Fardeen, meaning ‘Son of God’. So I said to him, which means you’re god! He laughed.

He told me of his dreams…. Of sending his son to school, buying his own car so he can drive his wife and family around. Bring his wife to see the Taj Mahal every now and then, cos the Taj is the ultimate symbol of love. He wants to start his own business. He will need 200,000 Rs to start one. 45,000 Rs to get a car. And dunno how much to send his son to school. He only earns Rs 3,000 a month, basic salary. The extra money he gets from tips from tourists and he saves every bit of it. For a better life, a brighter future. Those are his dreams.

He loves music. He enjoys singing but he doesn’t turn on the radio in the car because he thought I would be disturbed by Indian music. I should have told him I really enjoyed Bollywood stuff earlier! He learnt how to play the harmonica by himself. At the dining place tonight, there were some people playing the Indian drums and zither and Khan was strumming his fingers away on the table. ‘I feel the music in my head, and my fingers will just start moving.’

He is extremely conscientious and hardworking. He used to be a car mechanic until he became a driver for Manzoor’s tour agency six years ago. When he left the car place, he was jobless for 3 months. No one else in his family works. His father does not like women to find jobs. He is paying for his sibling’s education. Until he met Manzoor…. During the six years as a driver, he learnt how to speak English by himself, learning from the tourists. He reads grammar phrases books. He practices writing the alphabets when he’s waiting for me. He’s learning other languages now. He learnt how to use the computer and the Intenet… all by himself.

He says he is dieting, whenever I asked him if he’s hungry or not. But he is not fat. Just have a slight paunch. And he runs around the park in front of his house every morning.

He likes to laugh and joke. This afternoon, when I asked him if different horns (length of horn-ing, number of times, etc) meant different signals. He laughed and said no and went on to do multiple horns.

More about driving and traffic in India later.

Here’s a picture of my dear friend, Khan.

25-11-06 New Delhi

It took me one hour plus to pass the customs (see photo of long queue from previous entry). People were queueing until there was no space to queue anymore and had to stand on the staircase.

While I was queueing, there was this old lady, born in India but became Australian, who is going back to her home country after many many years. She doesn't look Indian though. maybe it's the white hair from the slightly tan skin. She was telling the people in the Q how the markets in Sydney had lotsa cheap stuff, something like a coat would cost 5 usd only. She bought lotsa stuff back for her family. too many bags for her to carry. she had to wear some of the clothes she bought for her sis. too many layers of clothes. good thing she's visiting during winter.

It was 16 degrees when I stepped outside the airport. For someone who is too scared of cold and who has never been to countries during winter, I shivered and gritted my teeth. My hair stands even when I’m in the office and that’s like 23 degrees?

Anyway, my hotel people came to pick me up from the airport. First time I see my name on hotel placard. First time to be surrounded by so many Indians. The roads were dark, hardly lit. The driver played Indian music. I tried to converse with them, but they don’t seem to want to talk.

Another Australian guy was with me in the car. His name is Quinn and he’s here for a trade exhibition. We talked, not very much, cos we were both tired…. He even more since he came from Sydney, transit in Singapore. Had the urge to ask if he’d like to explore New Delhi together with me the next day, but decided not to. I should be able to survive on my own. Hurhur.

TL told me I’d be overwhelmed the moment I cross the customs and I was indeed overwhelmed, in a good way. It’s a nice feeling, to be exploring somewhere on your own.

The adventure has begun.

I realised it's not youtube that's slow.. it's my broadband at home... hurhur.
So uploaded this clip from work.

taken in dec last yr, when we were at the kelong. If you see hard enough, you'd see little human bodies jumping up and down near where the fireworks shoot up from. Heeee.

The END of CommunicAsia

the end of my first nightmare-CommunicAsia.

I can't believe my week passed so fast though. Walking around the different booths, trying to speak to exhibitors all over the world. Eva joined us today, so me and mae were more relaxed (we were kinda losing 'steam' to approach people and speak to them). We decided to take some time off and look AT the booths and the stuff they have exhibited. :)

First stop, this Korean neo-print machine. Apparently, the owner wants to find distributors here in Singapore. I tried to explain that there are already a lot of neo-print machines from Japan, Taiwan here already, so would he find the market here 1) small, 2) saturated already? took quite a while for him to understand what i was trying to say.... which he finally replied saying the technology used in the korean machines are different from the neo-print machines in the market now. How true that is... I have no idea... the last time i took a neo-print, I was 19.

Anyway, there appears to be more functions here. Usual features include background (famous places, with popular artistes, colourful frames etc), text functions, cutesy stuff which teenagers will definitely like, changing the colour (black/white, sepia, adjust the lighting).

What's new to me was how we could change the backdrop even after we've taken the picture (usually, what u choose at the beginning is what you get); resize ourselves and move ourselves around the background. During printing, there are games available which will keep u occupied while your pictures are developing. the quality of the pictures are really not bad!!

here's something we took:

we made ourselves smaller so it'd look more convincing that we're at the location. Btw, anyone knows where this place is??
then, running out of poses, we decided to do THIS....

Hurhurhur. we were floating on air.

and then, it was handphones galore!

SAMSUNG

World's slimest camera phone---the Samsung Ultra.
So thin, it feels like a biscuit/cracker.

This one i'm holding is another model. There were too many people around the slimest phone.

Artful expressions series!

i love this series of sliding phones.
it's a touch-dial phone (similar to the LG chocolate phone later), meaning there's no buttons to press to dial. you touch the screen (see the phone icons) and it'll dial. the only buttons are the number pad. and as u enter the numbers, a 'feather-pen' thingy will appear and write the numbers out!! very pretty!! definitely a ladies phone.

I also walked by the Mricrosoft booth and saw this samsung blackberry-like pda.

and 3 shelves of dopod and pdas.

and lotsa Xbox....

and there's motorola....which didn't allow me to take pics unless i am a reporter. =_= but i still took 2 pictures. hee.

and now... the LG Chocolate!

and the chocolate print ad... (with motorola show girl in yellow in foreground)

lotsa other LG phones....

and this one i like....PINK!

remember the blue-tooth ring thingy i mentioned in the previous post?
TaDAaaa!

Here's the Jap guy explaining how it works. Notice the black hand thingy beside him.
the white bubble-like ring is the device, but just a prototype. I suggested that they make it smaller and prettier, then it'll be a ladies' favourite.

here's a passerby trying it.

You've gotta insert it into ur ear in order to feel the vibrations to ur ear drum, which will then be converted to sound waves!!
I'm really fascinated by it, but Mr Goh thinks that at the end of the day, your finger will be really dirty OR u'll get ear infection from sticking ur finger into ur ear too often AND the purpose of bluetooth is really to make it HANDSFREE-can't multitask with ur index finger in ur ear, right? --which kinda makes sense.
Still, i'm fascinated by it--the science of it, the wonders of technology.

And here's a handphone that's waterproof. No more corroded mobile phones and sim cards!!

i've got some videos of new jap technology which i took, but Youtube is taking FOREVER to upload it. any other good video hosting websites I can use?? Pls helppppp.

Reunion of a different kind

It's been a ________ night. I can't describe it, can't find a suitable word to describe how exactly i felt tonight. too many feelings, too many thoughts running through my head. when i first heard the news, i was shocked, then images of lena start to appear in my head.. I remember her in her gymnast leotard, i remember her in her yellow house tee running the track, i remember how uncanny she and her sis look like... how she has that sunshine smile and the ever so pleasant disposition. Although we never really know each other, we do see each other around in school. It's probably the st nicks connection.

st nicks girls of different batches attended, teachers, friends. Her family was very strong, i felt ann was very strong too. i'm sure they are very proud of her, as we all are. she's really a remarkable girl, which makes this even more tragic. I cannot imagine how i'd cope with the loss of a loved one, i don't think i'm that strong. but leen said when the time comes, you'd just have to take up the role, go through all the necessary mechanics and be a strong pillar of support for everyone else around you.

then, we started to think morbid thoughts: how will our own ceremony be like when the time comes? the type of flowers we'd want, the bears to put beside us and the photo.... must be one which shows us having the best time of our lives, beaming with the most megawatt smile. will there be so many people who will care to attend?

what will i be remembered as?

I don't think i've done much in my life so far to mention anything spectacular. should i be achieving more?

who are the five people i'll meet in heaven?

it's ironic how funerals bring together a reunion, how friends, school mates you've not seen for years come together. although the feelings might have changed, the tie is still there, we all share the same memories at one point in time.

Tonight stirred some buried memories in me. I remember how I was there when marc's mum passed away. i remember the heartaches and the tears. i remember that she was a kind lady and i'd never forget that night. I had barely known her for a week or so but i could feel the pain, so sharp, piercing through my heart as i stood beside marc during the cremation. her family wept the hardest I've ever seen. life is cruel like that.

I think i learn very slowly, sometimes not learning at all, that i'd have to treasure all my loved ones before they are gone. But humans are a strange bunch, not everyone can openly express how they feel so deep inside, baring oneself right through the skin.

but i must learn, and tolerate and treasure, before it's all too late.

blessing in disguise

I saw my brother limping as he walked to the door last night and i knew instantly what happened. what with the rainy weather and the slippery roads, it is not the least expected BUT definitely is something which we all hope will never happen again. Thank goodness nothing was broken, just cuts and abrasions.

I watched him squirm in pain as he dripped the ever potent dettol and Herbal Oil aka Qing Cao You onto the wounds. I couldn't help but laughed. Yeah, i know it's really mean, but hey, it's really hilarious. A macho man squirming in pain. He laughed too. :)

Mr goh said it's actually a blessing in disguise, to have your first road accident and escaped with minor scratches. I couldn't agree more. At least now i'm certain my bro will be more careful on the roads, will know how it worries my mum whenever he puts on that helmet and vroom-vrooms on his Phantom.

heard some bad news recently though, a school friend met with an accident and wasn't that fortunate. i can just imagine how devastating it is to her family.

Is everything fated to be?

friday night @ clementi

Met Mr peh for dinner and he intro me to this peng hir place at clementi. It's kinda ironic that a lakeside boy knows more about clementi than a clementi girl.

In any case, we had claypot rice, you cai and BBQ stingray. No need to go chomp chomp for BBQ stingray anymore!! and the claypot rice is nice too! the rice doesn't stick to the claypot, which usually happens especially at food courts.

Mr Peh is also the one who told me about the special effects of apple vinegar. It supposedly helps u to lose weight and have a whole long list of other health benefits. I just wish mr peh will stop smoking soon...he says he's just a social smoker and will stop once his IA ends. well, if you're reading this entry, I wish you'll keep to that! Jun zi yi yan, four hourses cannot chase!

and yah, the GSS has OFFICIALLY started. 8 weeks of wild wild shopping! Me and mae spent some time during lunch shopping. Haha. saw a really nice polka dotted halter from MNG's catalogue, but when we asked the storeperson, the same item comes with blue polkadots instead of brown! which is not really that nice on a cream base halter. well, shan't buy when it's not on sale anyway.

M)phosis is having crazy sales though. 50-70%. I went in, grabbed a few pieces that's my size, Q up and paid. It helps when you already know your size and/or have tried the same piece before it went on sale, so there's no need to spend time queueing to try them on. ;) I read from FEMALE that when you SPEND during a sale, you're in fact SAVING!

so everybody, the mad rush has begun. put on your shopping shoes.

Even THUNDER cannot wake him up!

The window panes in my office shook... making clanging sounds as the strong winds brushed past....

Lightning flashed. A few times.

I was anticipating the thunder.

Flash, flash, flash. Still no thunder.. back to work...

then... HONG LONG LONG LONG!! *very loud thunder la!!*

my colleague next to me jumped out of her seat. I quickly glanced round the office to see if the others had the same shock.... but... I got a bigger shock.

Dear mr. AT was SLEEPING!! dozing off, head propped by his left arm. monitor had screensaver turned on.

WAH LAO EH. what kind of person can sleep through thunderous thunder!?!
as if hearing my thoughts, the thunder god decided to prove his point and fired many many shots, a few seconds after one another. still, dear mr. AT did not budge.

me and mae couldn't stop giggling. AT must be sleeping for damn long la! He sleeps every afternoon lor! and it's even more frustrating cos he usually sleeps when my boss is not around... then 'pretends' to be so hard at work and laments to us that he is overloaded with work and can't seem to get used to the idea of managing a few projects concurrently. BUT he has time to doze off at work.

The other time I caught him dozing off (there were only two of us in the office then), I used my mobile to call his direct line. hurhur. very evil i know, but i really enjoyed the moment when he jerked awake....but guess what! he went back to sleep after that!! so i buay tahan, went over to his desk (by this time his eyes were open) and asked him if he's busy. and he GAN GAN say he is!! so i don't care, i delegated some data entry stuff for him to do, so what if he is a phd. simple data entry also cannot do correctly lor.. heng i got check his work.

I also feel tired at work sometimes la! but i just do some eye massaging and look far, look near and shut my eyes for a few minutes. when really buay tahan, eyelids damn heavy, I go to the toilet to steal some forty winks. at least i have the decency to go to the toilet and the max time i spent there is 10 min. wash my face and back to work.

I'm itching to ask dear mr AT what he does at night that makes him so tired in the day. And I'm hoping one day, my boss will call and look for dear mr AT and I can proudly say... oh, AT is busy sleeping at the moment, would you like to call back at a later time?

I like being mean. *GRIN*

the tissue paper lady...

I don't usually buy tissue paper from the tissue peddlars at hawker centres or along the roads because there are just too many elderly people doing that along the streets of orchard road and like most people, I just normally shake my head and say no.

However, I buy tissue packets from one particular elderly couple once in a while on my way to work in the morning. This couple is there every morning, rain or shine, right in front of the rolex building. The wife, I presume, will always cry out: "tissue paper one dollar, tissue paper one dollar" while her husband, stick thin, leans on a wooden crutch and stretches his frail arms in hope that some passer-by will approach him and buy his tissue packets. I must say I always feel my heart wrenching every day I see this old couple. On a few occassions, I wanted to find out what their story is...why do they do that every morning? Don't they have children? Why do they have to sell tissue papers every morning? Why..why..why.. but I never pluck up the courage to approach them and speak with them. Why?

This evening, met up Mr. Goh to have dinner at clementi. Both of us have tonnes of work-complaints. my china colleague is testing his limit with me EVERYDAY. I can just imagine spewing blood onto his face one of these days. Anyway...i digressed...
This really old lady... think maybe in her 70s.. came by our table with tissue packets and we bought the tissue packets from her. She was selling them 3 for $1 but we gave her $2 and she was kind enough to let us know again that it is just $1. Other tissue peddlers may have just taken the money and kept it, I don't know. Maybe cos she's an elderly lady, not man... maybe cos she looked kind and grand-motherly, maybe she doesn't give me the feeling that she's pushing us to buy the packets from her... maybe.. a lot of maybes which led me to want to buy it from her.

But the thing that really made me really upset was when I saw her going to the other table and upon seeing the leftover foods, took out a plastic bag from her bag and started to fill it with the leftover foods. Carefully, she used the chopsticks and filled up her plastic bag. I cannot imagine my grandmother, or anybody's grandmother, to be doing that every night. why? Where have her children gone? Or is she living alone? Is this the result of her not working hard enough when she was young? Or was she abandoned by her children cos she's too old and troublesome to take care of. lotsa questions ran through my head... One man's trash is another's treasure. Is this her fate?

Sigh, what a blue monday. and what a timely reminder for myself to count my blessings and cherish everyone, everything I have today.

Memory Toggle

#1: My primary school chinese teacher was called "bulldog" because he looked like one -dark short and fat- and he also had to run around the classroom chasing my boy classmates with the wooden metre ruler in his hands. There's supposedly a bulldog song created just for him.

#2: I have got two indian friends. One took over his father's business and became a money changer, the other, last remembered to have jumped down from the second level of our school building in order to prove his love for my best friend. Apparently, he twisted his ankle only.

#3: My favourite thing to do during recess is to play hopscotch and zero-point. I can jump over the "2-inch" level and we throw our wallets on the hopscotch drawing on the tarmac ground.

#4: My favourite food in the canteen was from the noodle stall. Occasionally, the cheese sandwich from the drinks stall, and the He Bao Dan from the fried rice stall.

#5: I used to play the organ when I was young and my best piece of music (apparently) is 爱相随 by 周华健. The music scores were bought from the big popular bookshop near school, and it is one of my favourite hangouts.

#6: I vaguely remember my winning chinese story telling competition piece to be about a girl who happily went out to buy dark soy sauce only to break the bottles and dare not return home. It was a story chosen by my teacher and she trained me every day in front of the class like how you'd train a parrot to speak. (of course, i'm grateful that she did what she did)

#7: I remember getting a love letter from a classmate.... and taking MC for the rest of that day.

#8: I had to stand in front of the entire school and sing the school song/national anthem and recite the national/school (sometimes over the PA system) every day. The bad thing about it is, I cannot be late... the good thing about it is... I get to people-watch. hm, is that a good thing?

the night at devils bar

It's true that some things happen for a reason, or are fated to happen in one way or another. When I got a call from my primary school friend this afternoon for some drinks tonight, I thought, well, why not? We haven't been in contact for 10 years! So, I decided to be spontaneous about it and agreed to meet up. (originally, my mum wanted to go shop for sofa set after i end work, but she called and said she's still at the hair salon. And being the planner that I am, I don't really like to be so spontaneous. hur.)

So yep, I rang up another primary school friend, who also happens to be my ex-neighbour, and best friend in primary school and asked her if she's available to meet up tonight. And so happens that she's going to devils. So that's when all the missing pieces of the puzzle starts to fall in place.

Pity leroy couldn't make it... cos it was actually birthday celebration thingy for jasmine! and it's like how qiao. I knew her birthday was around the corner.. but I didn't expect the timing of everything to be so accurate. So yeah, it's amazing how the chemistry among the few of us are still there, although i seriously think there is something wrong with my memory.

I can hardly remember things which happened during those primary school days... does that happen to you? I mean, they can really rememeber a lot of details! All I get are only 'screen shots' of events. like 'SNAP' boys throwing coins into our blouses, then 'SNAP', coke stains on school uniforms, 'SNAP' sitting in front of movie screen... what's wrong with my memory bank man.... how nice would it be if I could still remember exactly how I felt during those moments. By talking about childhood stuff with them definitely makes it easier to dig certain deep-seated memories from my brain and make those images start to appear again. Although we've not been there for one another for so many years, I'm sure there are times when we will think about one another and just wonder how they are doing now...

I'm glad we finally met up and on such a joyous occasion too. :)

And since I always feel very awake after i bathe, plus I've just drank some dang gui chicken soup thingy my mum prepared... I shall talk more about the night at devils.

The live band was not bad, vocals damn power. and there's always some fat, gay-ish looking guys bar-top dancing. Entertainment level for the night---high.

Drinks--- we had chivas. and I just found out that there is such a thing called chivas green tea. yeah, very suaku i know...but green tea was only popular a few years ago? and how i know any other drink also can be mixer. :P and jc broke the chivas bottle to get 3 crystal balls out and i took all of it! muahahaha.

and, it is proven that nokia handphones can take better pictures than the more expensive mini 02. ha ha ha ha. the flash from the 02 was BLINDING and pictures are still dark.

my heart is still beating at a faster-than-normal rate and my stomach feels HOT.
no cravings for green apple or dustbins or toilet bowl. no feeling constipated.
hair still stinks badly and ops, i think i didn't have dinner just now. (but the chicken wing they serve at devils is pretty good).

Need to detox my system tmr. now, need to get some beauty sleep.
